Biography
Originally from the Midwest in the United States, I moved to Ireland in my early 20s to complete an M.F.A at the Burren College of Art and have remained living in the Burren since. Both art and nature have been an important part of my life, and I feel blessed to call such a unique landscape home. Even in the bleak of winter, there is something magical about the soft colour palette and abundance of flora and fauna here, which feeds into much of my work.
Process & Inspiration
With a love for flowers, the Burren scenery, vintage patterns, and illustrations from the first half of the 20th century, my work draws from a variety of sources. The creative process often begins on my walks, where I am accompanied by my trusted golden retriever, as well as my camera. On these strolls through the landscape, I take time to document the many plants and take note of the varied wildlife that I encounter. This, as well as the natural visual rhythm of foliage tumbling over stone walls and bursting forth from hedgerows informs much of the imagery found throughout my art.
